Obituary of Thomas Douglas

Thomas ‘Tom’ Douglas, 55 ❤️
October 21, 1968 - February 4, 2024

Thomas "Tom” Douglas died unexpectedly on February 4, 2024. He was the son of David ‘Dave’ Snow and Karen Douglas (Snow) and the adopted son of Marlin Ray Douglas. He was born October 21,1968 in Anaconda, Montana.

Tom lived life with great dignity. He had the biggest heart (wore heart on sleeve), always lending a hand to help others, and struggled to make a difference for the betterment of lives surrounding him despite his life situations. Tom genuinely cared for others, often more than himself. His earnest, outgoing, and friendly personality affected others when meeting for the first time.

In his formative years, he grew up in Montana and Wyoming. Eager for knowledge and intellectually curious, he sought to learn, especially how things worked. You would find him disassembling or reassembling all sorts of things such as clocks, radios, anything that he could get his hands on. He offered up ideas and solutions on how to make improvements. He graduated from Riverton High School in 1987.

He went on to graduate with a highly desirable computer electronics engineering technology program in Tucson. He joined the aerospace industry and helped to grow Bombardier and BE Aerospace (Rockwell Collins) from 1995-2018. In this career, he also traveled the globe due to his ingenious avionics and electrical problem-solving skills and talents. Tom later moved to Virginia.

As a life-long learner, he went on to graduate from a self-paced Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) program in record time. True to his life’s passions, he proceeded to problem-solve facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other life safety matters when performed preventive and repairs of other installed systems, equipment, and other components. Wired to get the job done right the first time, he routinely volunteered and worked overtime, weekends, and holidays for unparalleled customer satisfaction. When not working, he can be found socially in helping others by doing odd jobs and tinkering on his many created devices/inventions.

He later returned to Arizona to spend more time with his mom, siblings, friends and loved ones. Thomas is survived by his mother, Karen, his siblings, Christina (Rodney) Mattix, Kaylynn (James) Stivers, Robert (Donna) Douglas, William Schatten (Yvonne) Douglas, Timothy Douglas, Elissa Holt, Margaret (Michael) Tugade, and stepbrother Jeff (Robin) Snow. He had 20 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. Thomas married Rosita Douglas, and they later divorced, and remained friends. He was preceded in death by both of his fathers, David Snow and Marlin Douglas.

Like his fathers, Tom had a servant's heart and helping others brought him joy. There will be a celebration of life planned for family and friends to be scheduled later. Bring’s Funeral home is entrusted with Thomas’ funeral arrangements from mom and his 8 siblings. You may pay your condolences at www.bringfuneralhome.com
