Clark Francis Dyer, “Pops”, passed away on Saturday, 20 January, at the age of 81. He was born 10 April 1942 to William Haskell Dyer and Elizabeth “Bet” Kalmbacher in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Clark descends from the Ui Mhaine 0’Kelly’s of Ticooly, Ireland.

Clark entered the United States Air Force on 13 May 1959, serving honorably for 20 continuous years to our nation. He is a Vietnam veteran who served in many roles ranging from police patrolman, corrections supervisor, security supervisor, and presidential guard.

Clark had a great thirst for knowledge, earning a master’s degree in Anthropology, and Family and Marriage Therapy. He loved to study history and was intrigued by those who led our country and Armies during the civil war. Clark had a great sense of humor and could imitate a range of foreign accents, off the cuff, when telling jokes or a short story.

Clark is survived by his wife of over 26 years, Maryellen Salvia, half-sisters Deborah A, Dyer and Suzanne (Suz) Dyer of Brooklyn, NY; his children Tammy L. Dyer of Gouverneur, NY; Patrick S. Dyer of El Paso, TX; Maria T. Dyer (née Gesford) of Kearneysville, WV; and Aaron H. Dyer of Pemberton, NJ; his step- children Nicholas A. DeLuise of Naugatuck, CT; Matthew J. Kochanski (née DeLuise) of Wallingford, CT; Timothy P. Tundel of Loomis, CA; David E. Tundel of San Antonio, TX; Stephanie D. Tundel of Tucson, Arizona; and his grandchildren Nickolas J. Dyer of Onalaska, WA; William S. Dyer of Winlock, WA; Danielle A. Gonzalez (née Urias); Aaron T. Urias (Pop’s best buddy) and his wife Christina M. Urias (née Sandblast) of Tucson, AZ; Madeleine E. Dyer of El Paso, TX; Sean Dyer of Arkansas; Abigail Dyer of Pemberton, NJ; Reiley Dyer of Pemberton, NJ; Jason M. Cousino of Gouverneur, NY; Zachary E. Cousino of Gouverneur, NY; Geoffry A. Cousino of Gouverneur, NY, and many great grandchildren.

Clark will be interred with his great grandfather Hugh Dyer and great grandmother Catherine Dyer (née Mae) in St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Avenue Ext, Danbury, CT 06810 in late spring or early summer. Clark is greatly missed and loved by his family and friends. The silence is overwhelming. “Say not in grief, he is no more, but in thankfulness that he was”.
