Obituary of Harold Robert Hixon
Harold Robert Hixon
(June 26, 1947-January 19, 2024)
Harold grew up in Tucson after moving from Uniontown, PA, when he was seven. Harold joined the Navy in 1965 and his term of service ended in 1970. He was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, for nearly a year.
Harold worked for many years at the Silverbell Copper Mine as well as at Road Machinery that supplied industrial parts for the operation of the mining industry. He moved to Silver City New Mexico for three years to run the Road Machinery store that supplied items to the New Mexico copper mines.
Harold married Jeanine Clark in 1977, and they loved each other nearly 50 years. They had one son, Timothy, and two daughters, Karrie and Amanda Christine (Briggs), and son-in-law, Ryon Briggs. Harold’s family was the most important part of his life.
Harold enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often sharing beers while watching football games. On the weekends you could find him sitting on the patio with Jeanine, listening to music at a volume that was never loud enough and grilling enough food for all the kids running in and out of the house. He took great pleasure in preparing the food including marinating overnight, making special seasoning blends and homemade BBQ sauce.
Harold’s service will be held at Brings Funeral Chapel at 6910 E. Broadway in Tucson, at 3:00 pm on February 9, 2024. IT will be followed by a celebration at home.
Harold left this earth the way he wanted to – at home with his family at his side.
