Obituary of Patricia Ann Gillingham

Patricia Ann Gillingham 

December 31, 1944 - January 7, 2024

 

Patricia Ann Gillingham received her promotion into eternal life on Sunday, January 7, 2024.  Pat was born in Ann Arundel County, Maryland on December 31, 1944, to John Francis Pendergast and Jane Fickenscher Pendergast.  Following her birth, Pat embarked upon a well-traveled and adventurous life living in Green Levels Maryland, Milwaukee, Nunda NY, Indianapolis and Jacksonville all before entering Florida State University. Pat was blessed with a strong upbringing in the Catholic faith attending Catholic schools culminating in her graduation from St. Mary’s Academy in Indianapolis. From there, Pat attended FSU on an Army ROTC scholarship where she graduated in 1966 with an RN degree and commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the US Army. Her travels continued as an adult where she ended her career serving in the Wyoming National Guard. Pat then retired to Green Valley Arizona where she stayed as active as her health would allow. Pat loved boys, the Riviera Swim Club, the Indy 500, athletics, nursing, the military, being a 911 operator, travel, volunteering, singing, Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church her family and her beloved dachshunds.  In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edward Michael Pendergast and her beloved and cherished husband, Blaine Gillingham. She is survived by her daughter Robyn Sharier (Jeb), sisters Peggy Litwhiler (Danny), Pam Flansbaum (Dave), brother John Pendergast (Jane) and her beloved doxies Bogey (age 15) and Paddy (age 5).  The family would like to extend its gratitude to Bridget Owens and Pete Martinez whose kindness, friendship and care were so very much appreciated by Pat, her pups and her family.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaufort South Carolina with inurnment to follow.
