Obituary of Anita St. John

Anita Ruth (Taylor) St. John of Tucson AZ passed away on December 5, 2023 at the age of 95 after a long battle with COPD. Anita was born to Gertrude (Cleveland) Taylor and Gifford Taylor in Bridgeport CT. Anita was predeceased by her husband of 59 years James H. St. John, her daughter-in-law Colleen St. John, her daughter Maureen McClain, and her sister Mary Ann Walters. 

Anita and her family lived in Somerville NJ and Ballston Spa NY before moving to Tucson AZ.

Anita is survived by her sons Keith (Diana) St. John of Tucson AZ and Kevin St. John of Hillsborough NC, her sister Christine Montgomery Kinney of Ellenton FL, her grandchildren Megan (Brian) Carr of Tucson AZ and Kyle (Samantha) St. John of Scottsdale AZ, step-grandchild Samantha Passetto of Tucson AZ, and eight great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.  

Throughout Anita’s long life she enjoyed and appreciated family and close friends. She loved traveling the world with her husband Jim.  In addition to being a homemaker, Anita worked as a telephone operator and office manager.  Anita never met a kitchen gadget she didn’t like. Happy hours will not be the same without her.    

A private service will be held at a later date.
