Betsy T. Green

1947 – 2023

Betsy Green, a Tucson resident since 1992, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the age of 76. Her work in media marketing and her dedicated commitment to local community organizations touched countless lives in the region.

Born and raised in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Betsy graduated from George School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin in 1970. She began her career as a middle school teacher and later transitioned to TV marketing where she worked for Fox channels promoting events and soliciting advertising opportunities.

In 1992, Betsy moved to Tucson and worked as the Marketing Director for KMSB and KTTU. After retiring in 2009, she dedicated her time to various Tucson community programs, supporting fundraising and promotional events. Her support for non-profit organizations included Gabriel’s Angels, The Girl Scouts, and SNAP. She also served on the Arizona Governor’s Commission for Youth and Families for 6 years 2005 - 2011. In addition, she was an active member of the Sunrise Presidio Townhomes community, serving as Co-Chair of the Welcoming Committee and writing a quarterly newsletter.

Betsy was also a sports enthusiast, closely following the University of Arizona teams and her beloved Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.

Betsy is survived by her two brothers, Scott and Stephen, and three nieces and one nephew. A celebration of life in her honor will be held at a later date. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy of community involvement will continue to inspire.
