Obituary of Lilly Depka

Lilly was born February 5,1940 and passed into God’s loving arms August 2, 2023. She was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, raised in San Luis Potosí, SLP, Magdelena, Sonora Nogales, Sonora, and Nogales, Arizona. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Jon Depka; parents Margarito and Refugio Rios-Cano; her siblings Norma Fontes, Cesar Rios, Alberto Rios, Alma Carter and Margot Millett. She is survived by daughters Debbie (Jaime) Rendon, Deanna (Joe) Kennedy, Kimberly Defoor; grandchildren Ricardo (Lindsay) Rendon, Gabriel (Raygan) Rendon, Joseph Kennedy, Brooke Logan: seven great grandchildren, sister Maria Rios-Derman (Rick) and her beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Lilly attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Tucson. As an RN she spent her early years at St. Joseph’s Hospital Labor and Delivery unit before going to Outpatient Pediatrics at Thomas-Davis Clinic. Her community service was extensive, spending countless volunteer hours with the Lupus Foundation of AZ, Assistance League, Arthritis Foundation and TASL. Her work as Art Coordinator at Michael’s led her to teach classes there and at various retirement communities and schools. She was also very involved in several committees at her much loved home at Fellowship Square, where she resided the past four years. Lilly touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed and will always be remembered for her kindness, patience, creativity and overall joy for life.

Memorial Mass will be offered at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 30,2023 with Rosary preceding at 10:30 am at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd, Tucson. In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of Southern AZ or UA Arthritis Center. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL
