Obituary of Elizabeth J. Amstutz

Elizabeth Joanne “Betty” Amstutz, 73, died June 22, 2023.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Paul E. Amstutz and her parents, Robert J. (Sr.) and Marie L. Brauer.  She is survived by her daughter, Lenore (Tyler) Garrison, her beautiful granddaughter, Aria; her brothers, Robert J. (Cynthia) Brauer, Jr. and Lawrence E. (Valerie) Brauer, as well as her Aunt Dorothy Brauer, her sister in laws, Susan Malcom and Sharon Schorr, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty received her Bachelors of Arts degree in English from Marygrove College (1972 - Detroit, Mi.) and her Masters of Education degree from the University of Arizona. She was an Adjunct Faculty member of Carl Sandburg College (Galesburg, IL) where she taught Latin and English Composition until she retired.

Betty was an avid photographer and loved spending time doing many hobbies which included jewelry making, painting and raising her “Show” alpacas for competition. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 6th 2023, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 2727 W. Tangerine Road, Oro Valley, Arizona.  85742.  Visitation at 10:00am followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.

Betty has requested that in leu of flowers, donations be made to the either: Leader Dogs for the Blind, 1039 S Rochester Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48307 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 81409, Phoenix, AZ 85069 or the charity of your choice.
