Joan M. Diaz, 90, Tucson, AZ. Died July 9th, 2022, in Tucson, AZ from illness. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 10th, 1932, to Frank and Elizabeth Berry. She married Earl Miller and had 7 children. She moved to Tucson, AZ in 1971 with 6 of her Children. At this point she went to school for nursing and became an LPN. She worked for the Veterans Hospital for over 30 years. Retired from work in May of 2002. After her retirement, she dedicated herself to her family, friends, and church. She was a part of two nurses’ groups and two dominos groups where she hosted many games and parties at her house. You would often find Joan offering nursing services to anyone who needed it both among her friends, family, and people in her trailer park. For her family, you would often find her crocheting blankets for the many babies born and hosting yearly family events like outings to movies / zoo for grandkids or Christmas Eve at her house. She was dedicated to her church and faith. She prayed for everyone and participated in communion, readings, bible study, and rosary making. She believed babies were human from conception and thought that God put her on earth to help end abortion. She loved Diamondback Baseball, big trucks, fish sandwiches with extra mayo. She was proud of her family and their accomplishments and embodied the lyrics “lean on me, when you are not strong”. She was our beloved mom, grandma, grtgrandma, grtgrtgrandma, sister, and friend.

“…then he’ll call me some day to my home far away, where his glory forever I’ll share.”
