Obituary of John W. Houdek

John William Houdek of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully on May 5, 2022, at the age of 87 with family at his side. 
He was born on July 18, 1934, in Oak Park, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents John J. and Irene Houdek, his sister Dawn Ashner and his beloved wife of 58 years Dora Amelia. He is survived by his daughters Candace Hughes (Doug), Cheryl Young (Jeff), and Carrie Mazur (Patrick); granddaughters Emmie Hughes, Olivia Young and Jeanette Mazur-Villarreal (Rene), and grandson Jared Hughes. He married Dora in 1958 after serving with the United States Army at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. John and Dora started raising their young family in Berwyn, Illinois until 1969 when they moved to Tucson, Arizona and continued raising their family. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at BRING'S Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, Arizona. The family would like to thank the staff of Frances Residential Care Home for the thoughtful, compassionate, and excellent care they provided their father.
