Obituary of Norma Birdella Hanna

Norma Colby Hanna Norma Birdella Colby Hanna Passed away peacefully at Home May 8, 2015 after a Courageous battle with Breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George J Hanna. She was born May 30, 1923 in Rains, Utah, daughter of Stanley G Colby and Ana Birdella Colby. She grew up on a farm in Wellington, Utah with her three sisters and one brother. She met the love of her life George at Carbon High School and they were later married in Salt Lake City, January 13,1942. They were sealed for all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on August 13,1959. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Norma was a homemaker and devoted mother of ten. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, doll maker, embroiderer and baker. Everyone loved to hear her sing and play the piano. Norma loved to dance and you could always find her dancing with George around the house. They were a fabulous couple. Norma loved chocolate, collecting dolls and growing flowers. Norma and George provided a wonderful life full of experiences, traditions and the love of the gospel for their ten children and their families. The matriarch of the Hanna clan will be missed and her memory treasured by all. She is survived by her loving children, Alice Brinkerhoff (Spencer), Peggy Jewell (Jim), Sally Marquette (Jack), Pamela Cadiente (Ron), Donald Hanna (Arcie), Daniel Hanna (Janine), Nancy Pulsipher (Doug), Kelli Twelves (Van), Robyn Dawson, George A Hanna (Rebecca). She is also survived by thirty-nine grandchildren, sixty-eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. And a sister, Hope Wilson. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 9:30 until 10:30 am at the LDS Kenyon Chapel 6901 E.Kenyon Dr, Tucson, AZ. A service celebrating Norma's life will follow at 11:00. Interment to follow at Binghampton Cemetery, 4001 N. Alvernon. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.
