Obituary of Mary Ellen Fazio

Mary Ellen Fazio obituary Mary Ellen Fazio, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on May 18, 2015, at the age of 94. She was born in Stecker, Oklahoma February 6, 1921. In 1925 her family moved to Arizona where Mary Ellen graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1938. In 1940, she married Steve Fazio. In 1942, they moved to Tucson, became part of the University of Arizona family, and never left. Mary Ellen was an extraordinary seamstress, loved crafting, but most importantly she loved her family and devoted her life to them. She served in many leadership positions at St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Salpointe Catholic High School, and was active in many community activities. She loved being around her family and always found time for others. Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter Mary Jean Wilford (Dave), son Steve Fazio (Kathy), five grandchildren, Kathy Hughes (Jeff), Brian Wilford (Theresa), Paul Wilford (Linda), Steven Fazio (Michelle), Jennifer Shotwell, and 12 great-grandchildren, Briana, Emma, Kyle, Cloe, Candace, Cassidy, Julia, Ella, Jacob, Aaron, Justin and Hunter. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Steve, her parents William and Gertrude (Burns) Howe, and 6 siblings. Private services will be held.
