Obituary of Edward L. Eudy

Eudy, Edward L. (Ed), 88, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Ed was born two months premature on March 25, 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Edward and Romilda Eudy. At the age of four, he moved with his family to Inglewood, California. Ed enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1948 and was activated to the Korean War in 1950. He was a motor sergeant in the 2nd Battalion and shipped to Japan for 10 months in 1951. His group left Japan on a Navy Landing Ship Tank (LST) to Korea, arrived at Inchon, convoyed to their base camp 1,500 yards behind the main line of resistance above the 38th parallel, and fought at Iron Triangle. After his service he met and married his wife, Eileen N. Sparks, in 1953. They lived in Torrance, CA where they raised their two daughters, Teri and Laurie. Ed worked as a greeting card manufacturer for 20 years, preceding his career as a service officer at the Torrance Police Department until he retired in 1987. After retirement Ed and Eileen lived in Bend, Oregon until 2004 when they moved to Tucson, Arizona to be near their daughter and son in-law. Ed is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eileen; daughters Teri Bixler of Elk Grove, CA, and Laurie Reich (Jerry) of Tucson; granddaughter Lisa Ribeiro (Andrew) of Sandy Springs, GA; grandson Kevin Bixler of San Francisco, CA; granddaughter Kristen Jeffrey (Joel) of Austin, TX; great grandson Henry Noel Ribeiro of Sandy Springs, GA. Pre-deceased by parents; sister Patsy Lee Oakes. Burial with a military funeral honors ceremony to be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ on Friday July 31, 2015, 1:00 p.m.
