Obituary of Carlos G. Aguilar

Carlos Gonzales Aguilar Carlos, also known as "Quiko" to his family, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Carlos was born on July 30, 1936 in Willcox, Arizona, and later moved to Yuma, where he met, and later married, his wife of nearly 60 years, Carmen. Carlos and Carmen moved to California, and then settled in Tucson in 1979. Together they raised five children, Eddie, Frank, Laura, Rachel and Rosalie. Carlos was a carpenter and could build just about anything you could imagine. He would spend most of his time woodworking and building everything from kitchen cabinets to doll houses. Carlos was also a self-taught musician, and would spend many hours playing one of his many guitars. Some of his happiest times were during large family gatherings when he and his brothers and nephews would gather around a fire pit creating music together to entertain everyone. He was also an avid fan of Arizona Athletics, and loved watching the Wildcats play football, basketball, baseball, softball, or any other sport that was televised. Carlos had a soft heart, and tender soul, which could easily be seen every time he was around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carlos has left a void that will be felt by many, but his family will be forever grateful for the memories they have of him. Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Calistra Aguilar, son Frank, sisters Rose, Leonora, Maggie and Cecilia, brothers, Juan, Pedro, Roberto, Bernard and Mike, and son-in-law, Lico. He is survived by his wife, Carmen, son Eddie (Betty), of Ontario, CA, daughter-in-law, Celia, of Ontario, CA, Laura Ruiz, of Hanford, CA, Rachel Federico, of Tucson, Rosalie Monge (Rafael), of Whetstone, AZ and his brother Fred Aguilar (Josie) of Willcox, AZ. He is also survived by his sixteen grandchildren, Stephanie (Ruiz) Rees, Sarah (Ruiz) Martinez, Jennifer Aguilar, Alison Federico, Jessica Aguilar, Nicholas Federico, Kurtis Aguilar, Hannah Ruiz, Samuel Ruiz, Kevin Aguilar, Matthew Monge, Lisa Aguilar, Sophia Monge, Teresa Aguilar, Austin Monge and Vincent Aguilar, and ten great granddaughters, Violet, Penelope, Olivia, Phoebe, Carmen, Ruby, Emilia, Everly, Ayvah and Brooklyn. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
