Obituary of John R. Canton

John R. Canton. John passed away after a hard fight from a broken hip and complications from pneumonia. John was born in the small town of Watson, Minnesota, on July 19th, 1925. He enlisted in the U.S Army in 1942 and spent one year in Japan. After serving honorably he attended the University of Minnesota, where is met the love of his life, Marian. The two would be married and spend the next 67 years together until his passing on December 20th, . John and Marian would have two children, Karen and Robert. John worked at the State Bank of Taunton in Minnesota for 39 years and became President of the bank, following in his Dad's footsteps. Being the avid golfer that he was, following retirement Marian and he moved to Tucson where he was a member of the Rolling Hills Golf Course for 28 years. John was the King of golf in our family scoring 5 holes in one, but his best of all was a 2 on a par 5 "Double Eagle". Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Marian; his son, Robert; 6 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Sadly, John's loving daughter Karen passed away from cancer at the age of 62 in 2011. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00a.m on Tuesday December 29th, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 3411 S. Camino Seco, Tucson.
