Obituary of Frederick John Kurtzweg

Frederick John Kurtzweg, 77, of Tucson Arizona, passed away 12/29/2015. He was born in Kingston, New York. Graduated from Saugerties High in 1957. He went to work right out of high school for IBM He worked at IBM as a staff programmer for 34 years. Fred thoroughly enjoyed being " Joker" the clown for the Shrine. He enjoyed seeing the children's reaction. He enjoyed making children laugh and smile. He got his 32nd degree on May 4, 1991 and he was an endowed life member of the Scottish Rite. He always joked about it taking him 29 ½ years to get his 32nd degree. He started his degrees in Phoenix, Az. In 1960, and after meeting his soon to be wife, he stopped and then started again in 1991. He was a perpetual member of Marion McDaniel Lodge#56, Member of Tucson York Rite Bodies; Tucson Chapter#3 Royal Arch Mason, Roskruge Council #6 Cryptic Masons and Arizona Commandery #1 Knights Templar. He was also members of Southern California Research Lodge F & A M and Southern Arizona Research Lodge #1 F & A M. He and Barbara were married November 23, 1961. They just celebrated their 54th anniversary. He is survived by his wife Barbara G Kurtzweg and children Frederick J Kurtzweg II, Shawn E Kurtzweg and Robin L Taheri. Grandchildren Michael P Kurtzweg and Chelsea L Taheri. Siblings Mary Jayne Eder, Roxy Schipper, Laura Reid
