Obituary of Randolph F. Chavez

Randolph F. Chavez Born May 9, 1917, died January 26, 2016. Randolph was born in Hayden, AZ and graduated from High School in 1935. Moving to Tucson in 1937 to attend Tucson Business College, he earned the equivalent of an associate's degree in Accounting and Finance in 1939. Randolph served honorably with the U.S. Army Air-Corp during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Proud of his 35 year career with the Department of Defense, he worked as Finance Officer and Commissary Officer at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ and Torrejon AFB in Madrid, Spain. In his spare time, Randolph, an avid golfer, could be found hitting buckets of balls at the driving range, refining his swing to shoot a lower score than his golfing buddies. In 1948 Randolph married the love of his life, Christina, who predeceased him. They spent the next 56 years together, raising their five children and enjoying the love of friends and family. Randolph and Christina are undoubtedly together in heaven dancing to their favorite Lawrence Welk tunes. Randolph is survived by his children, Daniel (Sharon), Ronald (Antonio Osuna), Robert (Nancy), Christina Swift (Paul) and David (Denise); his 14 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren who along with his loving nieces and nephews made his life richer in later years. He lived a full and rewarding life; he was always a hard worker, a dedicated husband and a wonderful father. Randolph will forever be in our hearts and memories.
