Obituary of Jane Ellen Monier

Jane Ellen Monier of Tucson entered the Kingdom of Heaven after a lengthy illness on Thursday afternoon, February 4, 2016. Jane was 86 years old. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, Tucson, AZ on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Burial Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Hope Cemetery. Jane, the daughter of Rondo and Mary Minear was born in Huntington, West Virginia on September 27, 1929. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Muncie, Indiana where she grew up with her parents, her sister, Patricia and brother, Edward (deceased). After attending Ball State University, Jane headed out west and moved to Tucson in 1951. Shortly after her arrival in Tucson, she met Paul Q. Monier Jr., a 4th generation Tucsonan and an officer in the U.S. Air Force (deceased February 2012). They married on April 26, 1952, and resided in Tucson throughout their lives. Jane made a positive difference in the lives of many. In addition to raising five children and actively supporting the family's insurance business, Jane also volunteered her time and service for several charitable organizations throughout Tucson. She was a long-time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Jane and Paul were especially devoted to their children and grandchildren. The legacy of Jane's kind spirit, love of celebration and fun, and zest for life will live on through all her family. Jane is survived by her five children and their spouses, Beth (Mike) Johnson, Paul Michael (Kathy), Mark (Melanie), Tom (Lisa) and James and her sister, Patricia France Haynes and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Sarah Monier and Larry and Jane Monier. Jane was also very fond of her grandchildren, Marianne (Steve) Gould, Andrea, Amy, Catherine (Chris) Walter, Damien, Emily (Joseph) Petrick, Mackenzie, Alexis, Brandon and great-grandchildren, Makaela Johnson and Adelyn Grace Walter, and many nieces and nephews.
