Obituary of Hollie K. Voorheis

HOLLIE K. VOORHEIS 1977 - 2016 Hollie Kristine Voorheis, age 38 years, passed away from a long struggle of alcoholism and drug abuse on February 16th, 2016. She was born on a beautiful snowy winter day on December 14th, 1977 in Urbana, Illinois to parents, Duane E. Voorheis, Jr. and Cheri F. Mooney (Kim Mooney). Preceded in death by her younger brother, Duane E. Voorheis, III at the age of 24 years. Paternal grandparents are, Duane E. Voorheis, Sr. (deceased) and Elma A. (Bayles) Voorheis of Bloomington, IL; Maternal grandparents, both deceased, Ora Odell Lamb and Patricia Ann (Bates) Lamb, buried in Farmer City, IL; one living sister, Jen L. Voorheis of Oklahoma City, OK and her children, Charity Faye Lassiter, Audrey Anne Lassiter and Gabriel D. Chavez. She is also survived by two step-brothers, Zach J. (Leanne) Mooney and their children, Jayden, Connor and Leilani. Brent Mooney and his fiancé Nicole Giles and their children, Seara and Alanna. Hollies' children are Ivy C. Mooney and Christina L. Fimbrez. She bore three other children of which were adopted out. Hollie had a bright and sunny personality and a most melodic laugh that one couldn't resist to laugh with her. She was a caring and giving person. She will be sorely missed by all her loved ones and friends. We love you and rest in peace our sweet Hollie. Visitation Thursday February 25th, 10:00a.m - 11:00a.m followed by funeral services at 11:00a.m, both at Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson. Interment to follow in Binghampton Cemetery, Tucson.
