Shirley Hart

Obituary of Shirley Mae Hart

Shirley Mae Hart passed away peacefully in her sleep on the afternoon of March 7, 2016. Born 88 years ago to Elza Servis and Ethel Francis Leek Servis in Madison, Wisconsin, she and her older sister Pat grew up in the Midwest. After World War II, she married Wayne and they built a home in St. Cloud, Minnesota to be ready to build their life and family together. But barely six months after it was finished, Wayne began a series of career moves that would take their family to live in Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, West Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, again Nebraska, Ohio and finally retiring in Florida for almost twenty years. Then to be closer to family, they moved to the Southwest; first Las Vegas, then Tucson. She worked many years as an executive assistant at various banks. Shirley enjoyed friendly socializing, card games, cooking, cross-stitching and always being in the mix of things. She was a loving mother in all that she did to support her family. She raised two Eagle Scouts. She would write long, handwritten letters to her sons when they were away from home at college or the Air Force. She and Wayne enjoyed 64 married years together before his passing just a few years ago. Her love is survived in her four sons, Gary, Bob, Rick and Jim, her nine grandchildren, Brian, Vickie, Jeff, Susan, Amanda, Melissa, Samantha, David and Elisha; her brothers-in-law Dale and Myron; her seven great grandchildren, Kayden, Claire, Jamie, Jessica, Vanessa, Chloe, Cameron and her nephews and nieces, Larry, Lanny, Myrene, Debbie, Sandy, Patty, Nancy, Leann, and Linda and so many others whose lives she touched. A memorial service will be held for Shirley, Friday, March 11 at the Brings Broadway Chapel in Tucson at 3 pm. She will be interred with her husband at the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota..
