Obituary of Margaret Croteau

Margaret Croteau, a long-time resident of Tucson, died peacefully in her home under the loving care of her children and Casa de la Luz Hospice on May 14, 2016. Born in 1927 in Duluth Minnesota, Margaret received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from the College of St. Francis. Margaret worked as nurse and was head nurse at St Joseph's Hospital at the time of her retirement. During her retirement years Margaret traveled the world, even taking a white water rafting trip down the Colorado River! Throughout her life Margaret's faith and love for God gave her the strength to move through tough times. Both Margaret and her husband Leo were founding members of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved Leo and her dear friend, Charles Gammie. Margaret leaves her time on earth in the grace and goodness of her 7 children, Charles, David, Suzanne, Jacqueline, Jerome, Paulette and Michelle. Margaret also leaves behind a second loving generation of 10 grandchildren (Emily, Christopher, Leo, Nichole, Trent, Ansley, Cameron, Gabriel, Courtney and Brandon) and her nine dearly loved great-grandchildren (Lexi, Wesley, Braelyn, Austin, Dylan, Bradley, Rosa, Octavian and Aiden). She is survived by her sisters, Janet and Lois and five brothers: Adolph, James, Francis, Edward and Worthy. Let light shine out of our darkness. We love you mom. A funeral Mass will be held on May 27th; 10AM at Our Mothers of Sorrows. In honor of their valiant mother, her children ask attendees wishing to celebrate her life to come festooned in her favorite color, purple.
