Obituary of Jack L. Colglazier

Colglazier, Dr. Jack L, Age 95, of Tucson, formerly of Dayton, Ohio passed away June 23, 2016. Jack was born in Falls City, Neb., July 19, 1920 to Lloyd A. and Anna Florine (Boyl) Colglazier. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard B. He is survived by Phyllis, his loving wife of 68 years; a sister, Lillian Barker of Centerville, Ohio; daughters and sons -in-laws, Sharon (Tom) Pleiman of Jacksonville, FL; Irene Colglazier of Tucson; and Denise (Robert) Anderson of Albuquerque, NM; son and daughter-in-law, Jack (Dianna) Colglazier of Centerville, Ohio; 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A retired physician, Jack was a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in 1945, served in the U. S. Army in WW II and the U.S. Navy Medical Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired as the Medical Director of the Frigidaire Division of General Motors in 1977 and later served in the same capacity with Dayco Corporation and the U.S. Postal Service in Dayton. He was an active member of the Dorothy Lane Baptist Church, the Montgomery County Medical Society, Ohio State Medical Association, American Medical Association, The American Academy of Occupational Medicine and had served on the United Way of Dayton Board of Directors. He was raised a Master Mason of the F&AM Riverview Lodge #717 in 1957, serving as Worshipful Master in 1967. Over his 50 years of Masonic service, Jack held many offices and received many honors. He was coroneted a 33rd degree Mason in 2003 by the Supreme Council of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and was the first recipient of the Royal and Select Masons of Ohio Distinguished Achievement Award. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetic Kids Fund of the Grand Council Royal & Select Masons of Ohio.
