Obituary of Leyla Hebert

Leyla Hebert, 79 of Tucson, Arizona died June 29, 2016 at home after a long series of illnesses that began in October of 2015. She had her husband, nephew, a sister, two daughters, a niece and a nephew in attendance. She was born on September 20, 1936 in Erzurrum, Turkey. Her family moved to Izmir, Turkey as a teenager. In 1974 she met her future husband, a US Navy Sailor stationed in Izmir. They were married on July 20, 1974 and they have been married 42 years. They left Turkey to return to the USA in 1979 and traveled across the country to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington. Her husband retired there on November 30, 1984. They moved to Tucson, Arizona and lived almost next door to her sister and her sister's husband. She is survived by her husband Nelson, her sister Sue of Tucson, AZ, her daughters Umran (Jay) Seidl, Handan (Robert) Bowron of Tucson, Arizona, her son Umit Huseyinoglu of Istanbul, Turkey, her granddaughters Muge Huseyinoglu of Istanbul, and Turkey and Amber Seidl of Tucson, Arizona, her nephew Carl (Debra) Kother of Taos, New Mexico and niece Susan (Larry) Chavers of Fort Walton Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her grandson Aaron J. Seidl of Tucson, Arizona. Leyla was an accomplished seamstress and gardener. She enjoyed travel and had many friends throughout the community. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Friends may call from 6:30 to 7:00 Pm on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at Bring's Broadway Chapel 6910 East Broadway, Tucson, where a Rosary and prayer service will begin at 7:00 PM.
