Obituary of Roger Richard Haar

Haar, Roger Richard, age 65, passed away on July 18 in Tucson. He was born in Toledo, OH to Richard and Ruth (Dazley) Haar. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Margo (Oliver) Haar. Also survived by sisters Rebecca Wagner, Robyn Young, brothers Robert and Randall. Roger graduated from Iowa State University and The University of Toledo, earning a PhD in Physics. Roger and Margo moved to Tucson where he was manager of the teaching labs in the Physics Department of UofA for 21 years. He was liked, admired, and respected by his colleagues and was an inspiration for many students. Roger was a man who lived his faith and was active at St Thomas More Catholic Newman Center at the UofA and very involved in the RCIA program. He loved dogs, hiking, bicycling, photography, and creating linoleum block print Christmas cards. A funeral mass will be held at St Thomas More Catholic Newman Center at UofA at 1615 East 2nd Street, Tucson, AZ on July 30 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of their choice.
