Obituary of Frank H. Aguilar

Frank H. "Sonny" Aguilar ended his hard fought battle with Parkinson's and joined his beloved wife Lydia in heaven on Tuesday July 26, 2016. Frank began his journey being born on May 18, 1937. As a very young man, he joined and proudly served the United States Marine Corps. At the end of his duty, Frank began his 41 year career with the Magma Copper Company. Shortly before retirement, frank was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and for the next 20 years did everything in his power to live an active, independent and productive life. Each day, Dad could be found climbing Tumamoc Hilll, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Frank served as a model for us all to not give up even when the challenge is difficult. Frank is survived by his son Frank M. Aguilar (Jennifer), his daughter Ruth (David) Hansen, his beloved grandchildren: Vince, Gia and Lucy (Frank) as well as Matthew and Aaron Hansen (Ruth). Frank's loving relationships with his sisters Phoebe Richards and Anna Marie Chalk, his many cousins, nieces, nephews, compadres and friends remind us of Dad's goodwill and generosity of spirit. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at TruVal for the attention and care provided to Dad during the last two years of his illness. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 AM on Monday August 1, 2016 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1300 North Greasewood Road, Tucson. In lieu of flowers, Dad would want you to extend love, kindness and appreciation for the many blessings in your life.
