Obituary of John Francis Briggs

John “Jack” Francis Briggs, 84, passed away suddenly on December 25, 2011. He was born on July 20, 1927 in Rhinebeck, New York. He is survived by his loving wife Milly; children John and Sharon (Richard); step-children Ted(Linda), John, Mick(Sue), Cindy(Danny), Mary(Scott); 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister Cecilia; and many nieces, nephews. Siblings, Jean, Richard, and Larry Charvos preceded him in death. First wife, Mary and son Kevin preceded him in death. His first job was as a mechanic until he joined the Marines in WWII and served in China. Upon his return, he was employed at IBM (for 25 years) working in New York, Kentucky, and Colorado. While in Colorado, he met his lovely wife Milly where they retired to Arizona and married. Jack loved helping people and was always there when someone needed help; especially with cars. His mechanic experience became his passion and he loved working on cars, driving his convertible in local parades and for pleasure, watching all types of car races and working around them at Raven Raceway with Milly. We now have a tremendous void and loss in our lives. We will miss him dearly but he will always be in our hearts and thoughts. All are welcome to join the family, in honoring Jack, with a memorial service 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
