Obituary of Paul James Rung

Paul James Rung 99 years old, died April 11, 2012 in Tucson, AZ. Married to, Marcella Mary Campbell, October 23, 1946 in Boston, Mass. Served in U.S. Army Artillery prior to WWII, Air Transport Command during WWII, awarded the American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Trans World Airlines employee 1943 to 1972, worked his way from customer service representative and apprentice mechanic to pilot at retirement. Lived in Salem, West Point and Ft. Madison, Iowa, Washington, DC, Cairo, Egypt, Farmingdale, NY, Ridgefield, CT, Benton and Alma KY and Tucson, AZ. Was active in Knights of Columbus and Model Woodworkers Association. In spare time, he built three houses and made wooden toys donated to local Tucson, AZ children's charities. Survived by: Wife, Marcella Mary Campbell Rung, Daughters, Deborah Harper, Forest Hills, NY and Paula Marshall, Tucson, AZ, Grandson, Kevin Marshall, Tucson, AZ, Brother Bernard Rung of Ft. Madison, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by: Father, George Rung 1945, Mother, Veronica Pauly Rung 1966, Brothers and Sisters, George Rung 1988, Richard Rung 1991, Helen Rung Smith 1996, Rose Rung Palmer 2011, Dorothy Rung Tapajna 2012. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, April 20, 2012, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco.
