Obituary of Luis Otero Luna
Luis Otero Luna 6/10/1916 - 6/14/2012 Luis O. Luna entered eternal rest peacefully in his sleep. Greeted in Heaven by his loving wife, Socorro "Rose"; parents, Luis Luna and Juliana Otero Luna; daughter, Patricia Ann Vogler and siblings who preceded him in death. He is survived by sons, Ed Luna (Judy), Loy Luna (Fay) and daughter, Marcella Ward (Martin); 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A World War II Veteran, he was born in El Paso, Texas. He and his family moved to Arizona in the 1950s. He worked as a Quarantine Inspector in Nogales, AZ. He volunteered as an interpreter at UMC with his wife. He loved to garden, play golf, take pictures of family and scenery, do carpentry, loved to draw and paint and proudly displayed his paintings. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus. The twinkle in his eye exemplified his love for family and his very social nature. People who knew him consistently called him "a gentleman" and he was loved by many whose lives crossed his. In lieu of flowers, please make any memorial contributions to The American Heart Association , 5325 E. Pima St., Tucson, AZ 85712. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass Celebrating his life will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Rd.
