Obituary of Frances Lillian Cushing

Frances Lillian Cushing 2/22/1919 - 11/6/2012 Frances died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Great Bend, Kansas, she married her high school sweetheart Glen, and they were friends in love for 59 years, until his death in 1998. Frances had a lifelong passion for music. She played violin professionally with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and was still playing quartets with friends at the age of 89. She loved to garden, cook and most of all be with her cherished family. Glen and Frances raised six devoted children, Doug (Diane), Virginia, Frank (Sharon), Michael (Gail), Bruce (Laura) and Kay (Doug). They shared 14 grandchildren, Carol (Byron), Mary (Garner), Nancy, Glenn, Wendy, Theo, Evelyn, Chris, Jesse (Rhea), Ali, Caitlin, Dustin, Cora and Daniel, as well as seven great-grandchildren, Scott, Ben, Molly, Marilee, Jane, Rachael and August. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to "The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation", www.mhopus.org. Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
