Obituary of Marie F. Bussing

Marie F. Bussing - mother and friend - died after a long illness on December 11, 2013. Marie moved to Tucson in 1965 with her husband Col. Henry G. Bussing, and their family. Marie was born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1918, trained as a nurse at Germantown Hospital, and worked in hospital and private duty nursing before marrying and raising her family. Her greatest fulfillment in life was as wife to a career USAF officer and the adventures shared with "Hank," living in Florida, Bermuda, California, Guam, Ohio, Montana, and two tours of duty in Tucson - and friendships lasting literally a lifetime. At age 50 she re-certified and worked as a very successful RN in private medical offices until her retirement in 1983. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Col. Henry G. Bussing, and son-in-law, Ross N. Hill. She is survived by sons, Bill (Marnie) of Calgary; Tom (Regina) of Gainesville, FL; and daughters, Jane Hill of Gilbert; and Mary Westerlund (Knute) and Ellen, both of Tucson; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mass on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Pius X, 1800 Camino Pio Decimo. Donations to Sisters of St. Joseph Development Fund, Mount Saint Joseph Convent, 9701 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118-2694, or charity of choice.
