Obituary of Rosemary K. Denny

Rosemary Knoblock Denny, daughter of Dr. Cecil and Thelma Knoblock, was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Christmas Eve 1927 and died peacefully on New Year's Day. Rosemary graduated from Central High School and attended Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She married Bill Denny in 1948. They lived in Oklahoma City, Washington D.C., Japan, Florida, and Arkansas before settling in Tucson in 1967 where Bill was a founding faculty member of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Bill and Rosemary were happily married for 63 years until his death in 2011. Rosemary was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was an active volunteer for The Brewster Center Auxiliary and other community organizations. Rosemary was an inspiration to her daughters, Celia (Danny) Olson of Pueblo, Colorado, and Karen Brereton of Tucson, and her five grandchildren: Melanie, Bryan (Beth), and Jennifer Olson, and Nick and Ellie Brereton. She is also survived by her brother Richard (Betty) Knoblock, and three nieces. The memorial service will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Rosemary's family invites friend to make donations to TMC Hospice (Peppi's House) or The Brewster Center.
