Obituary of Nancy Thompson Dent

Dent, Nancy Thompson, passed away April 20, 2014, surrounded by her family. Nancy was born in Bluefield, WV on May 17, 1945. She attended Catalina High School and the University of Arizona. Nancy taught all over the country while her husband, Chuck, was in the Army and in dental school. Nancy survived by her children, Chad (Heather) Dent and Kathryn (Chris) Tompkins; grandchildren Colter Dent, Lily Dent, and Charlie Tompkins; brothers Jim (Belinda) Thompson and Sam (Judy) Thompson. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Dent, Jr., parents, Sam and Letitia Thompson, and brothers, Rees Bowen and Harman Thompson. Her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs, Sadie Belle and Snickers. She is an inspiration to us all for her determination, selflessness, and the way she loved. A celebration of her life will be held May 2 at 5:00, at Jim and Belinda's house. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Arizona Cancer Center.
