Obituary of Dewey Varboncoeur
Dewey Varboncoeur Jr, 83, of Tucson, AZ, died at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
Dewey was born January 14, 1931, in Kankakee, IL., to DeweyVarboncoeur Sr and Evelyn Lareau Varboncoeur. He grew up and attended school in and around Leroy, IL.He enjoyed tinkering around the house, going on vacations and cruises, and spending time with his family. He was an avid sports fan and was always cheering the Minnesota Vikings on. Dewey married Joyce Joan Tabor on March 23, 1957, in Bloomington IL. They celebrated their 57th anniversary shortly before he passed away. Survivors include two children, James Varboncoeur (Debbie) of Vail, AZ; Judy Falvo (Jared) of Sierra Vista, AZ; two sisters, June Pleines of Saybrook, IL; Dorothy Roberts of Bloomington, IL. Other survivors include 4 grandchildren, Rick Whitington, Chris Whitington (Tammy), Jennifer Varboncoeur (Francois), Jonathan Falvo; 3 great-grandchildren, Bethany, Brock, and Brogan Whitington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Janet Varboncoeur, and 3 siblings, Ruby Berry, Robert and Donald Varboncoeur.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at Bring's Funeral Home, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ 85710. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 12, at Bring's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 South Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, AZ, 85635
