Obituary of Ronald G. Payne

Ronald Glenn Payne passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Ron was born to Thelma and Kenneth Payne on September 22, 1938, in Coshocton, Ohio. He lived in West Lafayette, Ohio, until he left for college in 1956. He attended the Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering in 1962. His secondary education was completed when he earned a Master's of Business Administration degree from the University of Louisville in 1966. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Sally Ellen Bennett on June 29, 1963, in Columbus, Ohio. When they married, they moved to Louisville, KY. Since then, they lived in Pittsburgh, PA, Quincy, MA, Huntsville, AL, Chicago, IL, Roseau, MN, and Racine, WI, before settling in Green Valley, AZ, in 1998. Ron is survived by wife Sally, sons Jeff (Teresa) and Steve (Lisa), and daughter Susan (Gary). Ron and Sally were blessed with four grandchildren, Diana, Nathan, Madison and Cole. He had held positions of Manufacturing Engineer, Management Consultant, Plant Manager, Vice-President of Manufacturing and, finally, entrepreneur before retiring in 1983. He enjoyed many hobbies - golf, fishing, hunting and, most of all, duplicate bridge. He had attained the rank of Gold Life Master with the American Contract Bridge League. He and Sally met at a bridge table while both were attending OSU. He was a member of Horizon Church in Tucson and the ACBL.
