Vincent Corrao

Obituary of Vincent Frank Corrao

Vincent F. Corrao, beloved husband, father, father-in-law and Grampy has gone to join the angels. Survived by wife of 60 years ~ Maggie, daughter Marcie, son-in-law Bob Oropeza and granddaughter Adriana. Born in NYC, Vince was a proud Purple Heart (Korean Conflict) veteran who served his country throughout his life: as a Pack leader in Cub Scouts, as a Little League Coach, during his service with the Hopatcong Police department, in his time at Yuma Proving Grounds and in his volunteer work for various organizations. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, the DAV, and the Order of the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the American Legion, NARFE, and the Old Pueblo Lodge Sons of Italy. He loved his Yankees, music of the Big Band era, reading and watching war movies with Bob. His favorite "Marcie date" was a trip to Bookman's followed by lunch at Culver's or Eegee's. He loved attending his Peanut's (Adriana) soccer matches and collecting special stones for her. Family was everything for Vince and he showed this daily. The family wishes to thank Dr. Leo Mendoza and Amanda Hernandez and the staff at Mt. View Care Center. Grace and blessings to Casa de la Luz Hospice who were a source of such comfort and peace during Dad's final time; words cannot convey what a blessing it was to have him under your gentle care. A private military burial was held Thursday, August 21st in Sierra Vista. A memorial to celebrate his life will be held at a future time, to be announced. Arrangements by Bring's Memorial Chapel.
