Obituary of Joan M. Brewer

Joan M. Brewer (Decker) 83, born on April 21, 1931 in Chicago IL, to William H. and Edith M. Decker, passed peacefully from this life into her husband Roy's and God's loving arms on August 29, 2014. Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, William Roy Brewer Jr. and her daughter-in- law, Kathleen M. Brewer. Joan is survived by her sister, Elaine Mackey and her seven children, Susan, Cindy (Jeff), Debbie (Patrick), Dawn (Tom), Roy III (Amy), John (Julie) and Connie (Al). Her 14 grandchildren who all adored her and her ten great-grandchildren all of whom loved her dearly and brought her so much joy, and several nieces and nephews. One of Joan's greatest passions was her over 50 year active involvement in the Mu Gamma Chapter of the Kappa Delta Phi Sorority. She rose through the organization to become their National President in 1984. Joan was so supportive to her husband Roy's tenure with the Tucson Rodeo Committee, their involvement each and every year was something they thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to with great anticipation. Joan was also employed by the Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau for many years, in particular she was the Registrar coordinator that provided assistance to all the many vendors that came to Tucson for the annual Gem and Mineral Show. Mom, our message to you is, "When we see the Moon, We see you". The grandchildren say "Home Again, Home Again, Never Gonna Roam Again". You will always be our Sunshine.
