Obituary of Cleo C. Lytle
Cleo Cecelia Schall was born on August 11, 1930 to Annie "Ann" Sulier Gifford Schall and W.E. "Ed" Schall in St. Ignatius, MT. She was raised on a cattle and thorougbred horse ranch near Arlee, MT. She loved the beautiful Jocko River that ran through the ranch and the valley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benton W. Lytle. They had 7 children: Sue Anne Korp, Simon S. Lytle, William "Randy" Lytle, John C. Lytle (d), Nancy L. Hoopes (Randy), Pamela E. Greene (Terry), and Sarah K. Barcelo (Casey). There were 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, & 1 great-great-grandson. Cleo was one of 8 children, and is survived by her sister, Sidney Powell & brother, Ted Schall, both of Arlee, MT. When Cleo was expecting her 4th child, the family moved to Tucson, AZ. It was 1953 and it was HOT when they arrived that August. She grew to love the desert and its beauty and this became their permanent home. They continued to visit MT almost every summer and still have many relatives there. Cleo was very active in her church and had many dear friends. She was creative and loved to cook, sew, quilt, and embroider, among other things. She was a wonderful mother. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
