Obituary of Marvin Calhoun

Marvin D. Calhoun, born in Philadelphia, PA on September 19, 1949, entered into rest on November 23, 2014. He served 27 years in the United States Air Force. He was a generous and caring man willing to help out those in need. He was a proud father always encouraging and supporting his children. He enjoyed military history, watching the news, talking about politics, and spending time with his friends. His interest were cooking, grilling, traveling, and researching various topics as he had a love for learning. His loving memories to be cherished by his former wife Nona Calhoun; loving children, Denise Keithley and her husband Todd of Tucson, AZ; Tracy Bennett of Upland, CA; Stephanie Bailey of San Pedro, CA; Marvin Calhoun Jr. of Clarksville, TN; and Marvella Taylor and her husband Patrick of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren, Davina McIntyre, Dana Williams, Michael Page, Ariana Keithley, Desiree Bailey, Dasiah Bailey, JaNiyah Calhoun, and Aiyana Taylor. He leaves one brother, Steve Calhoun of Barnegat, NJ and sister, Loraine Calhoun of Trenton, NJ. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Walker and Essie Calhoun, and a sister, Yvonne Poston. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Bring's Funeral Home. A special thanks to all of Marvin's friends for all of their love and support; and to all of our friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 2 pm at Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 East Broadway Boulevard, Tucson, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations preferred to the "Wounded Warrior Project", at woundedwarriorproject.org.
