Obituary of Martha E. Culhane

Martha Eloise Culhane, born October 21st, 1930, passed away on Monday, February 2nd of 2015. She was one of seven children to Samuel and Verdie Abston, born and raised in Tiller, Arkansas. Martha met the love of her life, John Culhane, on a blind date in 1955 in Little Rock, Ark. They wed and raised three loving children: David, Lisa, and Pamela, and moved to Tucson in 1984 to retire in the sunshine and to be closer to family. Martha enjoyed gardening, long walks, and spending time with her two granddaughters, Emily and Sarah, daughters of Lisa and Bob Hite. She cared deeply for her entire family, including her daughter-in-law Deidre, son-in-law Bob, and the entire Hite family of Tucson. She was a light in the life of not only her family, but in the lives of those around her, whom cared for her so dearly. Her charismatic and sassy nature could bring a smile to anyone's face. She will be remembered as a woman who enjoyed life fully and beautifully. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting Martha fell in love with her, and she made them feel equally as loved. The many close and wonderful friends she made throughout her life will miss her greatly. Martha's family would like to thank all those who looked after and loved her, especially the wonderful staff at her home for the past 5 years, Villa Hermosa. She is now dancing in the clouds with her soulmate John, basking in the moonlight and keeping watch over her loved ones.
