Obituary of Charlotte Venekamp

Charlotte (Pierce) Venekamp of Tucson, AZ passed away on November 11, 2021. Charlotte was born on February 28, 1940 in Valparaiso, IN, daughter of the late Harry R. and Minta Pierce. She married Robert G. Venekamp on January 30, 1970 in Merrillville, IN. Charlotte is survived by her husband, daughter Kathy Hartung and grandson, Tyler, stepson Robert (Loryn) and grandchildren Robert and Kelsey, and stepson Jeffrey (Toni) and grandchildren Jeffrey and Cullen. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

After retiring from Safari Club International in 2003, Charlotte and Bob traveled extensively crisscrossing the United States, Canada and Mexico. Their travels took them to four of the seven continents: Asia, Africa, North America and Europe.

Charlotte was active as a volunteer in her community serving in various positions at her church, Holy Way Presbyterian, and within her retirement community, Tucson Estates. She also volunteered as a Reading Seed Coach, working with elementary school students to improve their reading skills. More often than not, Charlotte would purchase books to donate to her students to encourage and share her love of reading.
