Obituary of John F. Thompson Jr.

John (Jack) F. Thompson Jr. passed away peacefully on November 20, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio to John and Helen Thompson. After graduation, he joined the U. S. Air Force, serving his country for 20 Years. He then went to work for Learjet-Bombardier, retiring after 25 years. 
Jack is survived by his wife, Sheryl; Sister, Barbara Lorenzo; Sister-in-Law, Shirley Whitlock; Six children, Jack (Karen) Thompson, Kim Thompson, Lisa Calderon, Kathy (Jason) Roberts, Michael (Rachael) Knight, Steven (Michelle) Knight; 12 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. 
Jack loved being outdoors. His favorite activities included golfing, camping, boating, teaching kids to ski and he couldn't wait to go fishing each year with his friends. Of course, the beer of choice had to be Coors Light. Jack was also an avid football fan, always cheering for the U of A Wildcats and Steelers. 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco, Tucson, AZ 85710. 
Military Honors will be performed at 10:00 AM on December 20, 2021 at All Faiths Cemetery, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes. Immediately following, there will be a Memorial Service, Monday, December 20, 2021, at 11:30 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco.
