Obituary of Janice Reynolds

Janice Reynolds, 85,  passed peacefully with family by her side in Tucson Arizona on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. Born April 18, 1936 in Blackfoot Idaho. The family moved to California, where she grew up and helped to raise her two younger sisters and brother. Eventually, she went to Van Nuys High School where she met the love of her life, Donald Reynolds. Janice graduated from high school in 1954. She and Donald were soon married in the Mesa Temple that same year. Two years later, they began a family of five children. Four boys and then finally a girl. Several years later, they started their own business, Reynolds Realty. It helped to provide for the family for many years. After husband Donald died in 1998, Janice continued Reynolds Realty for several more years by getting her brokers license. She enjoyed going to their family summer home that they bought in Pinetop Arizona, where many family get togethers created so many wonderful memories over so many years and generations. An excellent cook, she cooked a countless number of wonderful meals for so many holidays and birthdays not to mention all of the everyday meals. As an animal lover, Janice adored her favorite pet dog Muffy and cat Misty. She also made sure that every hummingbird had it's feeder at her Tucson home and at the Pinetop home. As a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, her greatest treasure was knowing that her family would be together forever. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had a great love for the Savior and the church and family and friends and neighbors, always putting others first before herself.  Together, she and Donald served as Stake Missionaries. Janice also held church positions in the Relief Society, Single Adult Ward, and Sunday School.  She was also Primary President and a cub scout leader. She is survived by sons Michael Reynolds (Cathy), and Douglas Reynolds (Marianne), daughter Lisl Rogers (Chris). sisters Kathleen Davenport , Sherilyn Siste , Anne Lloyd, Pamela Petersen, brother Steven Arford, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Preceded in death by husband Donald Reynolds, sons Martin Reynolds and Kenneth Reynolds, mother Elizabeth Arford, stepfather Willis Arford, father Ruland Petersen, stepmother Dica Petersen, brother Darrell Ward, sister Susan Keith, niece Terri Hoggard, and grandson Joel Schneider. Janice will be greatly missed. by the many lives that she touched. Services will be held Saturday, 9/25/2021 at the Bear Canyon Ward at 9541 E Snyder Rd. Visitation 9:00 AM, service 10:00 AM, then going to Binghampton Cemetery 4001 North Alvernon Way for burial.
