Obituary of Jerry Vane Hustead

Jerry Vane Hustead, 82, passed away April 15, 2021 in Tucson, AZ. He was born in Electra, TX on January 3, 1939 to John James Hustead and Vesta Florence Wilkinson Hustead. He was married July 11, 1963 to Carole Nell Kuykendall of Longview, TX.

Jerry had a fulfilling 40 year career with the US Forest Service, receiving multiple awards. In 1997, Electra High School honored him as their outstanding Ex-Student of the Year. Upon retirement, Jerry enjoyed several hobbies including volkswalking, hiking, creative writing, and painting with watercolors.

Jerry is predeceased by his parents and brothers: James Lawrence, John William (Billy), and Bert Ray Hustead. He is survived by his wife Carole Hustead of Tucson, his son John Vincent (Vince) Hustead of Pearland, TX, his sister Melba Dobson of Electra, TX, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 28, 2021 in Electra, TX.
