Obituary of Marion Mae Rhoads

Marion Mae Rhoads (Palmer), age 82, of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully on the morning of March 11, 2021.  Marion was born October 31, 1938 to Archie Otto and Cecile (Howard) Palmer in Wichita, Kansas.  She is survived by her four children, Palmer, Nancy, Scott and Dereck; six grandchildren, Brittny, Lauren, Elizabeth, Emily, Selena and Destiny; three great grandchildren, Jaxon, Jeremiah, and Lincoln.  She is also survived by her twin sister, Karen.

As she became an adult, she attended technical school and worked the majority of her adult life in the medical field serving as a Radiology Technician and Medical Transcriber. One of Marion’s favorite hobbies was sewing. For many years she provided lovely quilts and blankets to her family. She was an active member of the Wrapped in Prayer group and donated quilts regularly to the Answers for Life Pregnancy Center. She also supported the Youth on Their Own program, K-12 Cultural, Music and Arts Education programs.  Marion had a love for the Native American peoples becoming an avid collector of indigenous artifacts.

Marion will always be remembered for her dedication to God and love of family.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  May her memory be a blessing as she was a loving light in this world and will be deeply missed. 

Services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 as follows:

11:00 a.m Viewing (Glad Tidings Church 600 N. Kolb Road, Tucson AZ)

12:00 noon Funeral Service (Glad Tidings Church 600 N. Kolb Road, Tucson AZ)

Graveside service immediately following the church service will be held at the Desert Vista Cemetery 2151 S Avenida Los Reyes, Tucson AZ.
