Obituary of Perry Riley Hitchcock

Perry R. Hitchcock, 58, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on December 5th, 2020 surrounded by everyone who loved him in person, spirit and prayer. On December 4th, 1962, Perry was born in Fremont, Michigan to James "Jim" Hitchcock and Ann Marie Mast. Baptized Greek Orthodox as a child (his bapstismal name became “Perricles”), and his love for making people happy through food; he enjoyed volunteering at Greek festivals where he could serve people all the traditional meals. He carried his passion for cooking to high school where he attended Western High and the Bay - Arenac ISD Career Center for a degree in Culinary Arts. In 1981 Perry graduated, and he continued to work at his family owned restaurant: Pizza Sams. Shortly after this, he joined the United States Army; where he was stationed in California and Colorado but Germany was the place Perry enjoyed the most. In 1992, he was honorably discharged and moved to Arizona where he continued to be the selfless, hard working man we all knew him to be. Perry loved being out in the wilderness, his dog Sarge, the wildness of his grandsons, everything about the United States Army, country music, debating politics with his son Joshua and serving veterans at the local DAV. A noble father and friend, Perry is survived by his pride and joy: his son Joshua and his wife Natasha Hitchcock, two grandsons, Sonny and Axel Hitchcock, six brothers and one sister, his dear Aunt Ann and his mother Ann Marie Mast. Preceded in death by his father James "Jim" Hithcock and Step-mother Chleo Stamas. The funeral for Perry is being held on December 29th, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. mountain time. The burial will follow in Sierra Vista at 11:45 a.m. (MT). Due to COVID-19 it will be a private service and burial, but we will be live streaming both for family and friends that would like to attend in person but are not able to. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to any organization that supports your local veterans. Private message Natasha Hitchcock for any further details.
