Obituary of Diane Lewis

Paula Diane Lewis, 70, passed away Tuesday the 14th of January at home surrounded by loved ones.

Born in 1949 in Haggerstown, Maryland, she moved to Tucson, Arizona at the age of two. Diane grew up in Tucson where she raised three boys and worked for 28 years as a secretary for the Tucson Fire Department Training Academy. Diane was living proof that we may stumble, we may fall, but our strength is revealed every time we stand back up and keep moving forward -she was a true warrior- who battled numerous cancers throughout her life. She was selected to be an Olympic Torch Bearer for the 2002 Winter Utah Olympics, which was one of her proudest moments. Diane was also very proud of being part of the Tucson Fire Department Family, as well as being not only a Grandmother, but also a Great Grandmother.

Diane was preceded by her mother, Pauline Henry; father, Charles Henry; and brother Chuck Henry. She is survived by her three sons, Gary, Rob, and Branden, and her nephew, Logan Henry, her longtime partner, James Hammarstrom, as well as seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "American Cancer Society" (donate3.cancer.org) in memory of Diane Lewis. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bring's Funeral Home 6910 E Broadway Blvd. Tucson AZ 85710. Reception to follow.
