Wow Dad. I really miss you. Thank you for my childhood. I can really only remember it being good. Yes, we had our struggles. But, you were always there for me. I wish I had spent more time paying attention to you and mom during the years that we tend
to pull away from parents and go our own way. But, that is what we do. As Parents we watch our kids become their own person and secretly miss them. You were a wonderful father and my night in shining armor. :) I know you are rejoicing with our Lord in Heaven and being able to be with mom. That gives me great joy and peace to know I will be able to see you both again some day.
Love you with all my heart. Candy

I praise the Lord for having had the privilege of having H.D. McGhee as one of our church members and my personal friend. He provided a great deal of encouragement and fellowship to me for many years. He and Donna are very special to me, and their kindness and love for their pastor is greatly appreciated. I pray the Lord bring comfort to the family, and that the Lord will remind them of the dear saint of God who shared their life and loved them so much. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Second Baptist Church West Frankfort posted a condolence

The Second Baptist Church West Frankfort, Illinois, joins the family and the Tuscon community in grieving the passing of our Brother in Christ H.D. McGhee. H.D. and Donna have been dear to our hearts for years. It was such a joy to welcome H.D. back to his longtime home and church, and to have Donna become like family to us. Each spring we looked forward to their return from Arizona, and each fall said our goodbyes with anticipation of their return the next year. They are forever in our hearts. Brother H.D. was truly a Christian gentleman, and was loved and respected by not only our church but the community of West Frankfort as well. He was a pillar of the church and town. His pew on Sunday and seat at the weekly Men's Prayer Group remain etched in our memories. His wit and wisdom endeared him to all of us. We pray the Lord will bring strength and comfort to Donna and the family.

Harold was a good friend from 2nd Baptist Church in West Frankfort, IL. He loved Jesus. He taught me about the signing of peace for WW2 on the Battlesip Missouri which he observed. A man we will all miss. John Gossett.
