My condolences to Eric's family and friends. I was blessed to have worked with Eric during his brief stopover in San Diego in 1979-1980. He was always helpful, and as regards his service in the Green Berets, he told me, "It was just a job, Brian." He was most humble after serving on this legendary team. He was a quiet, humble, but truly tough guy, who did what was needed. He offered to help me by fixing my car mufflers. He slid under my car and wired shut some annoying noisy baffles. He knew just what to do and did it.
What a gentleman. God bless you, Eric. Vaya con Dios.
Brian Kane, Simi Valley, CA.

My condolences to Eric family. I thank God for the time and my pleasure of caregiving Eric. I’ve enjoyed listening to he s knowledge and experience of he s past. Eric lighted up as a Christmas tree with lights when he s wife would come home.
Eric would always smile when he s wife was around. Thank you was he s favorite words. Eric was the cleanest man I’ve ever known. He loved he s home. He’s office was he s domain. I know he went straight to heaven with no stops and sitting in the right hand of Jesus.

I recall being in a staff meeting Eric was facilitating when I worked for him about 20 years ago. His staff meetings were very orderly and he kept our attention by ending his meetings with a thank you to military families for their service and a quote from history to send us back to work. One quote that left a lasting impression on me was “now let’s get back to work & slap some leather”, we would chuckle, then for those who didn’t know where that quote originated, we would look it up and have a brief conversation on the origin & historical meaning. It was a great way to transfer history and motivate the team. Eric left his mark on all who had the opportunity to know him. For those who don’t know where slappin’’ leather originated, it’s to make a quick motion to draw one’s handgun from its holster, especially in a duel in the Old West. Rest In Peace Eric & my condolences to his family.

I worked for Eric for many years.Eric's work ethic and his commitment to the job and his employees were absolutely legendary. He also had a wry sense of humor; he'd say something and I'd laugh about if for a month. He has been and will be sorely missed. Bon Voyage, Eric.

I had the privilege of working with Eric through out my thirty year career at Hughes/Raytheon Missile System Company. We certainly had our moments, but at the end we were two old soldiers looking out for one another. I will miss my co-worker and close friend, he will suffer no longer and I know he taking care of business in heaven.

Eric is one of the most respected manager I ever had. You always knew where he was coming from, because he told you straight out. He always “had my back” and supported me. Will never forget our NASCAR weekend in Phoenix. So sad to see this. I pray for his family.

I wish to express my condolences to He Solheid family. I had the pleasure of working with Eric for many years. I can say our first encounter was somewhat confrontational (two former military hard heads). We became strong supporters of one another. He removed many roadblocks for my team and I in turn did all I could to insure his production line remained operational. I have never met a man with such passion and humility. He accomplished a lot but gave credit to many. I pray you find the peace that passes all understanding. God bless you and yours!
