Josephine M. Kritzell

1928-2018

 

          Josephine M. “Josie” Kritzell, 90, passed away the evening of October 21, 2018 at Villa Maria Care Center in Tucson, Az. The daughter of Clarence L. and Ellen M. Karchner, she was born in a small town in Northwestern Ohio and was the youngest of 10 children. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in 1946 and met her future husband a year later. She married Donald C. Kritzell on June 19, 1948 in Fremont, Ohio and they were married until his death in 2002. They had 2 daughters. Donna Jo (Bobby) Rowe, who passed away in 1981, and Theresa E. (Scott) Brown of Tucson, AZ. She had 7 grandchildren. Andrew, Gary, Jennifer, Gregory, Catherine, Rebecca and Michael, and 11 great-grandchilden.

            Josie was a Camp Fire leader when her girls were in school and took them on many adventures. She was a past member and officer of VFW post 2947 Auxiliary in Fremont, Ohio. She loved to travel with her husband after retirement and had a special liking for Lake Eufaula in Alabama and Branson, Missouri. Following her husband’s death, she moved to Tucson from Fremont to be with her daughter and spend more time with her great -grandkids. She loved to travel back to Indiana and Ohio to visit family.

            Preceding her in death along with her husband Donald and daughter Donna Jo are her parents, 6 sisters, 1 brother, both sons-in-law, Bobby Rowe and Scott Brown, and her 2nd grandson Gary Rowe.  She is survived by 2 sisters, Rita and Loretta, her daughter Theresa, 6 grandchildren and all 11 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews who love her and will miss her.

            Services for Josie will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fremont, Ohio at a time to be announced at a later date. We love you and miss you already our wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
