Gregory Reddick

Obituary of Gregory Bruce Reddick

Gregory “Greg” Bruce Reddick, 78, passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 17 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Greg was born in Enid, Oklahoma on November 8, 1945, to Mildred Ann and Fred Ernest Reddick. He grew up in Mulvane, Kansas and graduated from Mulvane High School and attended Emporia Kansas State Teachers College. While in college, Greg met the love of his life, Dee, and they were married for 55 years. It was in his early years that he developed a passion for cars—specifically ones that were loud and fast. He was a founding member of the Mulvane Marauders car club that started in 1958.

Greg worked in the aircraft industry for over 40 years—early on in Wichita, Kansas at Bede Aircraft, Boeing, and Gates Learjet. In 1977, while with Learjet, Greg moved his family to Tucson, Arizona where he went on to a long and successful career in marketing. Greg retired in 2006 from Bombardier Aerospace.

Upon retirement, Greg served on the board of directors for his resident community for many years. He also enjoyed diligently managing the swimming pool area. His hobbies and interests were many. He attended car shows, walked (and talked) the mall with his friends, and went to the swap meet at least weekly. Greg was an avid baseball fan and you could always find him at the ball field. His biggest enjoyment was watching his son, Jason and grandson, Austin play baseball--he was always there supporting them! He was also a fixture at Hi Corbett Field cheering on the University of Arizona baseball team. He never met a stranger and his genuine interest in people was apparent the first time anyone met him.

Greg is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Shirley Ann Dowers. He is survived by his wife Dee Ann (White), son, Jason, daughter-in-law, Stephanie, and grandson, Austin; stepsisters Dolores, Anita, Lori, and Madeline; sister-in-law, Dona and her husband Richard; several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
